About Wedmont Private Capital
Wedmont Private Capital is a veteran-owned, independent registered investment adviser headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with a second office in Portland, Maine. Founded in 2019 by former Credit Suisse colleagues Dominic Corabi and James Pelletier, the firm manages more than $3 billion for high-net-worth investors and families under a flat-fee model designed to remove the conflicts embedded in traditional AUM-based pricing.
That model has fueled remarkable growth. Wedmont surpassed $1 billion in assets less than three years after launching, added another billion in its most recent year, and has been recognized by Forbes, Newsweek, InvestmentNews, and Inc. Magazine, which ranked the firm amongst the fastest-growing private companies in America.
Growing that quickly with a deliberately lean team required technology that could increase advisor capacity while preserving the highly personalized client experience that differentiates the firm.
Opportunity
Wedmont's leadership believed generative AI could strengthen the firm's greatest competitive advantage: long-term client relationships built on deep institutional knowledge.
Advisors were ready to embrace AI. The challenge was finding a platform they could confidently use with sensitive client information.
Client intelligence was scattered across Salesforce activity timelines, SharePoint folders, Outlook emails, OneNote documents, and meeting notes. Reconstructing the history behind an important client decision often meant searching through years of disconnected information, making educated guesses about where something had been documented, and hoping it could be found.
The problem became even more apparent when clients transitioned to a new advisor. Years of conversations, planning decisions, and personal context often existed only in the departing advisor's memory. Bringing a new advisor up to speed required hours reviewing files and a lengthy handoff meeting, yet valuable context was still inevitably lost.
At the same time, advisors were asking leadership to purchase licenses for general-purpose AI tools, but Wedmont's cybersecurity consultants were not comfortable allowing sensitive client information to be uploaded into consumer AI platforms.
The firm wasn't looking for another chatbot. It needed an AI platform purpose-built for wealth management that could securely access its own client data and become part of advisors' everyday work.
"We're blown away by all the options and capabilities. I mean, you can pretty much do anything."
— Alexandra Kroot, Wedmont Private Capital
Solution
Wedmont launched a structured 60-day phased rollout initially involving 15 employees across wealth planning, investment operations, and client service. Before it began, leadership established three success metrics and gathered feedback from participants every week through team discussions and one-on-one conversations.
Nevis integrated directly into Wedmont's existing technology stack, including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Zoom, and Schwab. Rather than introducing another standalone application, Nevis brought AI directly into the systems advisors already relied on every day.
Adoption accelerated far faster than leadership expected. Meeting recording quickly became part of advisors' daily routine. By week six, virtually every recordable client meeting was being captured in Nevis.
"They love it. Our advisors love it so much."
— Dominic Corabi, Co-Founder, Wedmont Private Capital
As advisors incorporated Nevis into their daily workflow, the time savings became immediately apparent. Five of the eight users surveyed estimated saving 20–25 minutes per meeting, while the remaining participants reported accomplishing more within the same amount of time through faster meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up.
One use case quickly stood out above the rest. One of Wedmont's most active AI Assistant users manages nearly 100 client relationships, more than 90% of which were inherited from another advisor. Before meeting those clients, he uses AI Assistant to prepare by generating a briefing that pulls together years of meetings, emails, notes, tax returns, wealth plans, and CRM history, giving him a concise summary of the client relationship. Instead of spending hours searching through folders and Salesforce activity timelines before every inherited relationship, he begins with a complete understanding of the client before the first conversation.
As advisors grew more comfortable with AI Assistant, they began expanding their use cases. Teams used AI Assistant to rebuild client-by-state registration reports for compliance, draft bulk client communications, summarize 100+ page dynasty trusts, review tax returns and estate plans, and replace several specialized document review tools with a single AI workspace connected to the firm's client data.
Within just 60 days, the initial phased rollout exceeded every success metric Wedmont established. Weekly active usage surpassed 90% against a target of 50%, with 14 of the 15 participants returning every week and averaging 4.5 days of engagement per week against a three-day target.
"We've been polling our entire team every week, both in team forums and one-on-one conversations, and I don't think we have a single user who hasn't said, 'If you take this away, I'm going to be upset.'"
— James Pelletier, Co-Founder, Wedmont Private Capital
Following the initial phased rollout, Wedmont expanded Nevis across the firm. Today, advisors and support teams use the platform throughout the client lifecycle.
Meeting Preparation and Documentation: Advisors walk into meetings with AI-generated briefings built from CRM history, previous meetings, emails, and planning documents, then leave with meeting summaries, follow-up tasks, and drafted client emails.
"The one I think that was the most useful was... 'I have a meeting with so and so, help me prepare for a review meeting,' and it just came back with like, 'Here's an agenda.' And that was pretty cool."
— Wedmont Capital Financial Advisor
Client Intelligence: Advisors ask natural-language questions about clients and receive answers grounded in years of meetings, notes, emails, and CRM history within seconds.
Document Review: Tax returns, estate plans, trusts, and equity compensation documents are analyzed alongside the firm's existing client context, allowing advisors to review complex planning materials without switching between specialized applications.
Workflows and Task Management: Wedmont also began redesigning core operational processes in Nevis, including rebuilding its 25-step client onboarding workflow that had previously lived entirely in Salesforce.
As Nevis became embedded in daily work, every meeting, note, task, email, and document expanded the knowledge available to the AI. Rather than simply saving time, Nevis became the firm’s institutional memory, allowing advisors to build on years of accumulated client knowledge instead of starting from scratch.
"I've been like an AI junkie. I'm in ChatGPT all the time, but it's the first time I've ever had an AI that can see relevant data. And so it just felt, like, unbelievably powerful."
— Jeff Snodgrass, Investment Operations Lead, Wedmont Private Capital
Impact
Nevis has become a core productivity platform at Wedmont, helping advisors prepare for meetings faster, retrieve client information in seconds, review complex planning documents more efficiently, and automate routine follow-up work. By bringing together meeting preparation, client intelligence, document review, and workflows in a single AI workspace, the platform has reduced time spent searching for information while giving advisors more time to focus on client relationships.
One of the clearest examples of that impact is how advisors prepare for inherited client relationships. Many Wedmont advisors manage books of business that include clients originally served by another advisor. Historically, getting up to speed required hours reviewing SharePoint folders, Salesforce activity history, discovery notes, tax returns, wealth plans, and buried email threads, followed by a 90-minute to three-hour handoff meeting with the departing advisor. Even after that effort, important context behind decisions made years earlier was often lost because it existed only in someone's memory.
Today, advisors preparing for inherited client relationships begin from an entirely different place. Before meeting a client, they use Nevis to generate a briefing that pulls together years of meetings, emails, planning documents, tax returns, and CRM history into a complete picture of the client relationship. Instead of piecing together individual documents, they begin with a clear understanding of the client's history, priorities, and previous decisions, allowing them to get up to speed dramatically faster.
The benefits extend well beyond inherited client relationships. Across the firm, advisors spend less time searching for information, preparing for meetings, and reviewing planning documents, while operations teams are consolidating workflows and task management into Nevis. Together, those changes are reducing manual work and creating a shared knowledge base that grows with every meeting, email, and document.
The platform has also changed how Wedmont talks with clients about artificial intelligence. As more clients ask how AI fits into the advisory relationship, the firm can point to tangible examples where AI strengthens personalization rather than replacing it by helping advisors remember more, prepare better, and deliver more informed advice.
Wedmont's experience demonstrates that the greatest opportunity for AI in wealth management is not simply automating work. It is giving advisors immediate access to the information they need to be more productive while preserving the institutional knowledge behind every client relationship as the firm continues to grow.
"I think we've been really pleased... Viewed from a meeting summary, meeting notes, client intelligence standpoint, I would consider it, like, a resounding success... I don't want to go back to a day where I don't have a tool like this."
— James Pelletier, Co-Founder, Wedmont Private Capital
